Melanie Comber

Comber lives and works in London, and for over two decades has been producing works with distinctively evocative textured surfaces.

Far from being formalist abstract pieces, the works are monuments of emotional experience. Her paintings allude to an experience of ‘place’, incorporating personal associations and visual notations absorbed during a designated ‘visit’.

Comber has exhibited extensively across the UK and was a nominee for the 2010 Marmite Prize. Comber has exhibited at the Royal Academy, Piccadilly (London).

Comber’s works can be found in the following collections:

  • Deutsche Bank
  • Coutts
  • RBS
  • Hiscox
  • RGB Underwriting
  • Jupiter
  • Pantheon Ventures
  • The David Roberts Foundation
  • Sainsburys and numerous private collections in the UK and abroad
